What is Green Industry?

              Green Industry refers to businesses in the industrial sector that are committed to environmentally friendly practices. The goal is continuous development and improvement while operating with social responsibility both within and outside the organization, across the entire supply chain, to achieve sustainable development.

Key Principles of Green Industry

              Green Industry is committed to eco-friendly operations for sustainable development, focusing on three main areas:

  1. Improving the efficiency of production processes
  2. Environmental management with continuous improvement
  3. Responsibility toward society and the environment, both within and outside the organization (throughout the supply chain)
What Are the Benefits of Green Industry?

             When an industry shifts toward becoming a Green Industry, the benefits begin immediately — including energy savings, reduced resource usage, and lower pollution emissions. These help reduce costs related to energy, raw materials, and addressing environmental and community impact issues. Additionally, communication between factories and local communities becomes more open, fostering trust and understanding. Green Industry also supports the conservation of resources and nature for future generations. Factories certified as Green Industry are allowed to use the Green Industry logo for commercial promotion, increasing product credibility and market acceptance.

How to Implement Green Industry?

           Green Industry is divided into five levels, and factories are certified at each level by the Ministry of Industry.

  • Level 1: Green Commitment – A declaration of commitment to reducing environmental impact, communicated throughout the organization
  • Level 2: Green Activity – Implementation of activities that successfully reduce environmental impact, in line with the stated commitment
  • Level 3: Green System – A systematic environmental management process with monitoring, evaluation, and review for continuous improvement, including recognition through environmental awards or certifications
  • Level 4: Green Culture – A workplace culture where everyone participates in environmentally friendly operations as an integral part of daily business
  • Level 5: Green Network – Expansion of green practices throughout the supply chain, encouraging partners and suppliers to adopt and become certified in Green Industry as well
